St. Mark's Place is in the East Village. It is an area that is known for being the place to shop for amazing punk/rave/club clothes. It started out as a mecca for punks in the 70's. Between people selling things on the streets and the thrift stores, and chic boutiques you could find anything.

A lot of those chic boutiques are still there. Manic Panic, Screaming Mimi's, and Trash and Vaudeville just to name a few. Unfortunately, nowadays they are all way too expensive for little hardcore indie punk girls. Unless you are lucky and maybe catch some things on 80% clearence. I got a cool pink tulle skirt at T&V for 30 dollars.

St. Mark's Place is also the home of the @cafe, which was the first cybercafe.
