California, Allen would later go on to star in
American Football at the
University of Southern California. Unlike another former
USC star
running back, he did not
butcher his
ex-wife and a
waiter. (That's
an entirely different story.)
Pro Career Notes
Allen was selected 10th overall in the
1982 NFL draft by the
Oakland Raiders and was chosen as
The Sporting News rookie of the year in
1982. He would go on to earn
Pro Bowl births in
1982,
1984,
1985,
1987 and
1993 along with the
Super Bowl XVIII Most Valuable Player award.
