Hiawatha's Belt is the symbol of the Iroquois Confederacy it is composed of a tree in the center with 2 squares on either side all chained togeteher. The tree is representative of sacred tree under which the Iroquois held their council. Each of the figures is said to represent one of the five original tribes in the Iroquois Council. From left to right: Seneca, Cayuga, Onondoga, Oneida, Mohawk. The Symbol is over 400 years old. It was originally made of wampum strung together into a belt. The belt was intended to symbolize the unity of the Iroquois Confederacy.
