A term describing an unknown, "
underground" hit tune that becomes such a club hit that it recieves wide public acclaim and commercial success - even though it was not made with those subjects in mind.
The term is often used by
cool and
hip DJs and
club kids that does not want to be associated with commercial, wide-spread music. The usual opinion in these groups of people follow a mathematical law, known as
Greiff's Law of Credibility (see also
Snickars' Law of Rarity).
