Legendary British actor who has immortalised many legendary screen characters, such as Count Dracula, Sherlock Holmes and Frankenstein's Monster. Lee is best known for his work with Peter Cushing, the two of them making many of the original Hollywood vampire and horror movies that dominated the global cinemas in the late 1950's and early 1960s.

He is also distantly related to Ian Flemming, The Man with the Golden James Bond Idea.

Its not hard to see how Lee could be considered the Center of the Hollywood Universe when he has 218 roles to his credit and more rolling in (including roles in the imminent Lord of the Rings movies and Star Wars: Episode II).

Lee has previously claimed that he holds the record for number of film roles by an actor.

In June, 2001, he was made a Commander of the British Empire (CBE) by Queen Elizabeth II.

(As always, its got to do with movies, so thanks to the IMDB - http://www.imdb.com)

Editor's note: Christopher Lee died June 7, 2015, aged 93. He remained active and working until his death.
