A folk-rock guitar duo composed of Jack O'Neill and Cary Pierce, hence the name JackoPierce.
Begun in 1988 at Texas Southern Methodist University in Dallas, their first big album Bringing on the Weather was produced by T-Bone Burnett, who produces for Counting Crows. Previous to this they had published and promoted three albums independently as a duo, but with Bringing on the Weather they picked up a bassist Carl Pendergrass and drummer Earl Darling.
After a farewell tour in 1997 and the release of Decade, the band broke up. Cary Pierce has released a solo album You Are Here, while Jack O'Neill along with Pendergrass and Darling formed American Horse which released an album in 1999.
Jackopierce never really enjoyed a wide following, though many heard them when they toured with Vertical Horizon, and they had a loyal fanbase at many American universities.
