The Knife's Edge can be found on
Mount Katahdin in Baxter State Park in
Maine. Katahdin is the northern
terminus of the
Appalachian Trail, the longest continuously-marked footpath in the world.
The Edge is an extremely narrow
ridge that connects Pamola Peak and Baxter Peak. The path along the Edge is so thin that when
traversing it in fog, your world shrinks to a simple line, going only forward and
backward. The ground
plummets away on both sides,
disappearing into the void.
