A state park
where melted snow feeds a very cold creek, a fun place to visit for a day trip
The current in the creek is suprisingly strong, and the bottom is composed of smooth, algae-slicked
rock. The attraction
of the place is that you can wade out to the middle of the creek and let the current carry you downstream
, as long as you don't mind occasionally getting sucked underwater. In some places there are small waterfalls
, which its generally a good idea to circumnavigate
as you can't always see what's beneath you.
There is a portion of Slide Rock known as Grasshopper Point
where people cliff dive
into a deeper part of the creek.
