Sunlight shines
silver-grey through the light rain and
cars pass
at
odd
intervals
on the wet pavement, hissing a
rhythmic collage of doppLered noise
punctuated
by the occasional
soft drone
of an engine loud enough to cut through the gentle chaos.
There's something
to be said for having a
novel,
original
experience
of all this,
but for some reason
right now
my mind wants to
simply
feel the sounds
and wander
to a
similar time and place so
        removed
from here and now
that all I percieve is its emotional resonance,
strong  despite  the  distance.
