In Roger Corman's 1960 film, A Bucket Of Blood, Walter Paisely (played by Dick Miller) busses tables at a pretentious beatnick coffee house. His dreams of being an artist take shape when he accidently kills a cat, covers it with plaster and names the creation 'Dead Cat'. It becomes an instant hit and Walter reels from his newfound recognition. When a narcotics officer attempts to frame him for possesion of 'H', Walter panics and kills the cop with a rather large frying pan. After covering the narc with plaster, he's ready to show his masterpiece at open mike night - Murdered Man.
