An annual festival held both in Spoleto,
Italy and
Charleston, SC. The one in Charleston occurs in early summer and provides all-day
opera,
theater,
jazz,
orchestra,
monologue, and a host of other types of
arts. The festival is well worth a trip to Charleston, but be sure to get your
hotel reservations early!
For those with a more limited budget, there is also Piccolo Spoleto – a series of less expensive performances that occurs at the same time as Spoleto.
The only problem is that there are so many performances going on that it’s hard to catch them all, or even decide which one to go to!
