I remember an episode of
Growing Pains in which Ben Seaver (the
consummate dork) was making a movie for one of his
high school classes. I don't remember what the movie itself entailed, but there was once scene that the kids had filmed, where Ben was talking on the wall mounted telephone in his family's
kitchen. Taped above the phone was a handwritten sign which said "pubic phone" with an arrow pointing down at the kitchen telephone.
I still wonder if this was an oversight of a misspelling, or a subversive idea of a joke. I find it funny because it's so strange - the show was entirely
