Ademola Olugebefola was Born in the U.S. Virgin Islands. He is an artist most famous for painting giant murals on the side of buildings. He also has done many book covers and magazines. His work is bold and minimalistic, with bright colours and strong lines. There may be some art deco influence. His work also uses figures found in West African pottery and paintings, such as salamanders and cows. Often the painting is centred around a triangular shape, that may be a pyramid, or train tracks leading off into the distance.

His murals can be found in Harlem and in SoHo as well as other urban centers such as Chicago and Detroit. He has taught at several American and Caribbean universities. One of his courses is called “Art and Economics
