Ye FLIPPING GODS YOU CAN FREAKING SEE IT FROM ORBIT. That was my reaction when I drove back home from college after Lehigh Cement put up the biggest building in Carroll County.
It's a cement furnace that converts raw materials into that useful powdery stuff that we use for all sorts of stuff. The only problem is that you can see it from Pennsylvania. I swear that if the company added one more light bulb that thing would mess with the migration of sea turtles. Not that Union bridge is close to the ocean or anything, it's just that bright.
The residents of Union Bridge seem to be taking the situation with aplomb, but they don't really have much of a choice given that the cement company is the only employer in the town.
