Ashleigh Banfield has reported for MSNBC from Ground Zero in NYC, Pakistan, Afghanistan and the West Bank. She was on site when the North Tower fell and was caught in the debris cloud. She is the host of "A Region in Conflict."

She graduated from Queen's University in Ontario with B.A.s in Political Science and French. She was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1967. She is engaged to her boyfriend and producer, Drew Nederpelt.

Banfield had reporting experience in Canada and Dallas before moving to MSNBC. She was the winner of a local Emmy as Best News Anchor in Dallas as well as two IRIS awards.
