Vine is a website that allows you to share very short snippets of video. It appeared on the internet in 2012, and was bought by Twitter even before it could be officially launched.
Vines can be up to 6 seconds long, and are often even shorter. They are nearly always self-filmed videos taken with cellphone cameras. The only thing that makes this worth anyone's attention is that Vines can be revined to share with your friends, posted on Twitter, Google+, and Facebook, and, if one feels the need, posted to YouTube, usually in compilation videos.
