{E2 DICTIONARY OF CLASSICAL MYTHOLOGY}

The principal ancient sources used in compiling the Dictionary are listed here. There is no separate table of abbreviations, but there should be no difficulty in elucidating from this list the abbreviations used in the list of references (see each individual node). A few sources which occur only one or twice have been omitted from this list; in such cases a complete reference is given in the body of the write-up. Reference is made here to the editions which are most easily accessible for English readers, and in particular to the Loeb Classical Library wherever it contains an appropriate volume.
