Abu-Mashar Jafar ibn Muhammad, better known as Albumazar, was an
Arab astronomer. His
seminal work,
De magnis conjunctionibus,went about documenting the creation of the world via
the zodiac. In his
astronomical tables he used the
Persian calculations of the years as opposed to the more common
jewish reckoning.
