as if you were again young and chasing a childhood sweetheart (idea)

Yesterday, watching  a neighbor dog run circles around the yard

realizing he had no idea how to act his age 

in the grocery store parking lot I see groups of senior citizens

bundled up for the cold, shuffling their feet-  barely moving 

Am I in the middle ?

not young enough to run for no reason

 also not so old that I cannot imagine it ?

What is the point when you reconsider?

when you stop making choices on impulse,

choosing instead to make your decisions based on safety 

My uncle told me he stopped playing golf when he turned 50 

"My heart wasn't in it anymore"

if there a worse thing ?

                                             to give up living while still alive
