Return to Storm: Before and after. (poetry)

Before the storm, the air was
still and damp -
[This ocean is angry but I might live through it|filled with menace.]

Before she came around, my life was
calm and predictable
neat cabinets, organized bookshelves.

When she was here, my days were
filled with hyperkinetic adventures
hours of random wandering, or
[Forts made of chairs and blankets|blanket wrestling]

When she was here, our nights involved too much
drinking, yelling, throwing dishes
violent collisions, affectionate and otherwise

After the storm, the breezes were
[wind chime|cool and serene]
[The sky rained tears. I was sure.|skies filled with stars],

not a cloud in sight.

Not a single cloud.
