"and I blush and shrug in disbelief,

wondering what strength it would take to contain a desire this voracious in more seasons than one."

Another windswept passion blew in yesterday

a series of waves

Late summer evening,  early morning thunderstorm, sideways raindrops becoming snowflakes,

sheets of wet leaves plastering the sides of cars

South became West became North

our thin sheet pulled into a ball

pushed to the floor

discarded for

Two quilts,  a blanket and a bottle of Brandy

Tonight as breezes bite and cool becomes cold

the steps will creek, the windows will shake and you,

with newly found goosebumps,  will shudder

more than once
