Flashing lights of low flying planes (poetry)

.

The flashing red of
3 am traffic signals
telling me to go on home

The soft yellow glow of
a convenience store lobby
empty, disinterested.

The moaning of
an accidental car alarm
angry- on and on and on and on and on

The flashing lights of
low flying planes
distracting us from stars, 

but only briefly
