Trenchtown was a government housing scheme in
Kingston,
Jamaica. built after the hurricane of 1951 had destroyed a
shanty town of the same name. The camps making up Trenchtown had grown around the West Kingston dump site, where scavengers would take whatever usefull refuse they could find.
Trenchtown was home to Rastafarians since early WWII and is where Bob Marley grew up and met Bunny Livingston and Peter Tosh
