An amazing New York poet, she received her MFA from Columbia University in 1996. Her thesis and lone book length pulication, Little Savages helped her gain recognition as a featured poet in the Boston Review. She has also published poems in the Threepenny Review, the Barrow Street Journal, and many others.

This is an excerpt from Il Maestro del Violino, a poem about the Incurabili:

Signor Vivaldi patted me on the head
and sparkled like a star

so bright in the sky that he
turned night to day.

Those of us still pretty enough
to leave give concerts

in the open air and return to tell
of shrieking gulls and

large faces and the warm breeze
that blows across our

bare legs and arms as thin as reeds.
