Copland is the name of the operating system on Lains Navi in the anime, Serial Experiments Lain. It is another play off of Apple Computer.
Copland was the codename for Apple's next-generation OS. Eventually, the Copland project fell through and was replaced when Apple bought NeXT, whose operating system (NEXTSTEP) would become the new basis for Apple's next-gen OS.
