After introducing the rhythmic flights of fancy of poems like Them Toad Suckers and Them Yodel Yellers, Mason Williams slips in what is essentially a haiku form of his Them Poems on his 1964 LP (VJLP 1103). While pieces like Them Hog Liver Likers or Them Moose Goosers typically use five verses to round out their topic, buoyed by the meter, Them Hors D'Oeuvres is only one verse, giving the listener just a little taste (appropriate, given the subject matter).
