In 1942 the cryptic inscription "L.S./M.F.T" appeared on the bottom of the pack in which Lucky Strike Cigarettes were sold in. The pack also changed from green to white because the green dye was needed for the war effort. This inscription tied in with their new advertising slogan, "Lucky Strike means Fine tobacco". As far as I know, that slogan is no longer used in their advertisements (for that matter, I have not seen an ad for them anywhere recently), but the inscription is still on the bottom of the pack.
