The Cure had released Three Imaginary Boys as their first LP in the U.K. a few months earlier and Boys Don't Cry was all that and more...with the best of TIB as well as a few newer singles. The controversial "Killing An Arab" single (based on Camus' The Stranger) meant both strife and publicity ... radio stations and some stores thought it encouraged violent behavior toward the arabic people - labels compromised by putting a sticker on the album making it clear killing arabs just ain't cool. What troubled times.
