A coffee candy available in your finer drug stores, including Long's Drugs in Santa Cruz. It comes in two flavors, Caffe Latte and Decaffienated. It is composed of real coffee, real cream, very real sugar, and a variety of other ingredients.

Surprisingly, it tastes just about as good as a Starbucks Frappucino... The candy seems to be a hard lozenge when you first put it in your mouth, but as it warms up, it takes on a consistency similar to taffy or caramel, only stickier - if you have braces or fillings, it is to be avoided at all costs - or if you have to have a coffee hit, don't chew on it.

In terms of actuall caffiene, though, it isn't going to buy you as much as real coffee (or not at all for the decaffienated version). To get an equivalent buzz, at least three per hour is necessary, probably more for the hardcore coffee drinker. Still, if you like Starbucks-style coffee and are running short on time, these are quick, easy, and a hell of a lot cheaper. Not to mention you can't spill them all over your shirt... but, after a day in the sun, they're a better adhesive than chewing gum.
