The capital city of Western Samoa.

Last time I checked, the population was around 30,000.

A fairly typical Pacific Island "city". No traffic lights until about 1996, the police used to stand in the middle of large intersections and direct traffic. It was a beautiful thing to watch, almost like a dance.

McDonalds recently opened up an outlet there, it will never be the same again.

Located on the south shore of Upolu (the main island) it's about 15 km (10 miles) and an hour drive from the airport. The roads are terrible.

There is a local fish market, but it's fairly smelly, tropical temperatures don't do much for fish lying on tables outdoors.
