Indications
In conjunction with diet and exercise to treat hypercholesterolemia or mixed lipidemia, and to treat hypertriglyceridemia, high levels of very low density lipoproteins (VLDLs).
Dosage for adults
200 mg (capsule) or 160 mg (tablet) per day

Distributed by Abbott Laboratories, Tricor was approved for use by the FDA in capsule form in February of 1998 and in tablet form in September of 2001. It is typically prescribed when diet alone does not adequately lower triglyceride levels and there is a risk of pancreatitis.
