The Memorial Cup is a
tournament played annually to determine the best major junior
hockey team in
Canada. The winner of the Memorial Cup tournament is awarded the
trophy of the same name. The tournament pits the champions of the Western Hockey League (WHL), the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) and the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), as well as the team from the host city. The site of the tournament shifts every year in order to give each league equal representation.
