After a brief departure, we return to the original US continuity and artists. A group of kids playing on a trainyard encounter the Protectobots in search of the rebel Throttlebots captured by humans in issue 32. The Protectobots ditch their captive Blaster in a drain pipe, while they go into round two with the Decepticon Combaticons. Fleeing from the destruction caused by Defensor and Bruticus, the kids find Blaster and free him of the mode lock installed by his captors.

"If we can't protect the weakest among this planet's natives, then we're no better than the Decepticons, Hotspot." - Blaster
