A 16-voice polyphonic digital/analog rackmount synthesizer/sampler. Released in 1987.

Instead of being just a keyboardless DSS-1, the DSM-1 offers a full 1MB of memory for sampling, as well as 16-voice polyphony with 16 individual outputs. Up to 512 different samples and waveforms can be stored in 32 programs and 32 combinations.

Wave editing tools include reverse, link, mix, cross phase looping, back & forth looping, view & edit of sound data and pitch adjust. Sound shaping is much like in DSS-1, with a VCF included. In addition to a floppy drive, the DSM-1 also features an optional SCSI interface for extra storage.
