A guilt trip is where you
crucify yourself over something like breaking a
promise to yourself or someone. In most cases it's where you've
hurt someone who you
care about (wouldn't
matter to you otherwise).
Guilt trips can be induced by other people (usually referred to Bastards for doing so).
