On a less serious note, I learned a neat little tune, the "Auslanderlied" (meaning
Foreigner Song) while learning the
German language. It's supposed to help you remember what to say if you're stuck in
Germany and you can't
communicate.
Der Auslanderlied:
To the tune of "She'll be coming round the Mountain"
Ich bin Auslander und spreche nicht gut Deutsch (repeat 2x)
Bitte sprechen sie doch langsam, bitte sprechen sie doch langsam,
Ich bin Auslander und spreche nicht gut Deutsch (repeat 3x)
Ich verstehe nicht was sie sagen, Ich verstehe nicht was sie sagen,

Translation:
I'm a foreigner and don't speak German well (2x)
