Marlow is a
semiautobiographical character appearing in novels by
Joseph Conrad. Marlow is a
seaman and the
narrator of
Heart of Darkness and
Lord Jim.
"I don't want to bother you much with what happened to me personally," says Marlow at the beginning of Heart of Darkness. An amusing comment given that the entire book can be viewed as a higly personal experience. This shows Conrad to be definitely writing in the 20th Century.
