An
Italian card game, similar to
scopa. It is always played in couples, like
Euchre. In scopone all the cards are dealt at the beginning of the game, so you start the game with a
hand of nine cards, and four cards on the table.
Scopone, like scopa is not a slow game, but it is a game of reasoning. Based on what other players do, a good player is able to guess what they have in their hand. A really good player with an equally good partner basically knows everything about the card distribution by the fourth or the fifth round of the game.
Scopone scientifico is an interesting variant.
