Today more painful work, starting at 0900, on the project-designed-by-a-committee. The committee was dispatched at about 1100, which now allows me to start real work (and noding, of course).

A guy is nosing around the offices, talking about preventive maintenance next week. I hope I will be left alone, because

  1. I run Linux machines which the maintenance drones do not understand.
  2. I hear that this is more provocative maintenance than preventive
Usually a post-it on a locked door suffices to keep them and their mini vacuums and residue-laden screen-scratching wet sponges out.

Cleaning ladies invade my office ... I install mozilla M14, feeling vaguely guilty for the mess of cables on the floor and the assorted junk on my desk.
