Pre-AP is a prefix given to classes that attempt to funnel high school students into Advanced Placement classes. It is analogous Pre-IB, although less scary. Even though Pre-AP classes are not as scary as Pre-IB classes are, they are usually at the same level of difficulty. In fact, many Pre-AP students are put in the same class with Pre-IB students. Pre-AP classes attempt to prepare students for Advanced Placement classes, and because of this fact Pre-AP classes cover more material than "regular" American high school classes.
