They're not
completely right...Mystic Quest contained a number of
Final Fantasy references, or traditions so to speak. The most obvious one is the presence of four elemental fiends, and
IIRC they included the traditional stable of magic spells that are in every
FF game. I'm sure there are a good amount of other similarities, but...I can't, um, remember them. Yeah, that's the ticket. I can't remember them, and, uh, I don't have the time to play the game again...
(That lying at the end is especially transparent because one could probably beat Mystic Quest in a couple of hours.)
