One of the primary landmarks of the MIT campus. The Great Dome was built in 1914 as part of MIT's new Cambridge campus, and overlooks Killian Court. It is a frequent
target for hackers, and has sported such things as the
police car on the dome, a telephone booth with a working phone, a fiberglass cow, and a giant propeller beanie. It was even turned into a giant copy of R2D2 for the premiere of Star Wars Episode 1.
The Great Dome also appeared in the clasic Infocom text adventure game The Lurking Horror.
