Caffit is a café/restaurant on Emek Refyim in Jerusalem. Popular among the middle classes, it is often madly busy, especially on Saturday nights.

They do some great pasta dishes, and a criminally good chocolate cake with ice cream and cream on the side.

It's not cheap, but you wouldn't want it to be.

Caffit was the site of an attempted suicide bombing on Thursday March 7, 2002. A man walked into the café with a large backpack containing explosives. He was spotted by a customer and a waiter with the detonator in his hand. They restrained him, disarmed the bomb and handed him over to the police.

As you might expect, business has been a little slow since then.
