Le Fate Ignoranti (translated: The Ignorant Fairies) is an Italian movie that came out in 2001. It was directed by Ferzan Ozpetek and written by Ferzan Ozpetek and Gianni Romoli. It stars Margherita Buy as Antonia, Andrea Renzi as Massimo, Antonia's husband, and Stefano Accorsi as Michele.

The film starts by showing Antonia and Massimo happily married. Massimo dies, and while in mourning, Antonia discovers he was having an affair for 7 of the 10 years they had been married. She discovers where this person lives and the rest of the film revolves around her discovering the entire other life Massimo had that she knew nothing about.

The acting and directing won many awards in Italian film festivals. All in all, it is a beautifully done movie. It seems a bit cheesy at some points, but this is most likely do to the translation of the subtitled version I saw. The acting and set up does seem a little more "Hollywood" than your typical foreign film. But it is highly reccamended to anyone with an open mind who likes movies about sexual desire vs. affection.
