Formed about 80 years ago by F. Melius Christiansen at St. Olaf College, the St. Olaf Choir gets quite a bit of publicity as one of the finest amateur a capella choirs in North America, though your choir would be pretty good, too, if you practiced for 1 1/2 hours a day, five days a week. Consisting of 75 members of the St. Olaf College student body, the Choir takes annual jaunts around North America, and, every 4-5 years, to other spots in the world (most recently to Australia and Norway, since St. Olaf College is a mainly Norwegian Lutheran institution).
