Having an
office door that you can
close is the most wonderful
luxury a
system administrator in a busy
environment can have. Being able to close the door to keep
bitching users out allows one to actually get the system back up.
It is also useful when you want to talk to someone, or helping train a new employee. Bringing them into your office and shutting the door is a freedom that is easily taken for granted. Cubicles are hell on earth for sysadmins.
All you good companies out there... give your system administrators a real office with a door. Their productivity will go up three-fold.
