Imagine the creepiness of Hannibal Lecter in Silence of the Lambs
. Then, imagine the hallucinations suffered by Tim Robbins' character in Jacob's Ladder
. Mix those two together, and you have the basis
for The Cell.
The Cell is a fascinating trip through the world of our dreams. Finally, someone was able to catch on film the strange, dark places that my mind sometimes goes when I am asleep. I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. The eye candy was almost more than I could handle.
While I enjoyed this movie a lot, I found that a lot of the acting was wooden and felt forced. If this movie did not have the amazing visuals it had, I would have probably hated it. See it at matinee prices if possible, because you might be disappointed if you pay full price for it.
If I was a teacher, I would give this movie a B.
