A term used to describe a number of
comic book superheroes who have the unique ability of arguably competing for the title
the Fastest Man Alive.
Jay Garrick, Wally West, Johnny Quick, Superman, Barry Allen and many other characters have at one time or another held the title. Speedsters can, due to natural or unnatural means, run several times faster than the speed of sound and even approach the speed of light, although there is a certain point where they can achieve terminal velocity and their body's matter would turn into energy, causing them to become one with the Speed Force.
