One of the most distinctive streets in New York City, once you've been to Smith Street it's hard not to recognize it immediately.

Looks far less like the sort of view you would imagine being in the middle of New York, and a lot more like what I remember of New Orleans, although that was a good bit of time ago...

Walking north on Smith, the street gently slopes up and you spend your walk staring at Brooklyn Heights looking down on you. The street is lined with new trendy restaurants and boutique stores like Hip Stuff You'll Want - a perfectly pink establishment selling mostly belly shirts.

Smith Street is thriving today thanks mostly to the recent influx of young wealth into Cobble Hill with Carroll Gardens soon on the list to follow.

Of course, that's when I'll have to relocate out of the neighborhood - but hopefully that can wait a few years.
