En"ter*o*cele` (?), n. [Gr. an intestine + a hollow.] Anat.

A perivisceral cavity which arises as an outgrowth or outgrowths from the digestive tract; distinguished from a schizocele, which arises by a splitting of the mesoblast of the embryo.
